Yoga For Beginners: Simple Poses To Get Started

Yoga is a physical, mental, and spiritual practice that originated in ancient India. Beginner Friendly Yoga poses

2. Downward-Facing Dog (Adho Mukha Svanasana): Start on your hands and knees, with your hands shoulder-width apart and your knees hip-width apart. Press your hands into the ground and lift your hips up. Straighten your arms and legs, and lengthen your spine.

3. Child’s Pose (Balasana): Kneel on the ground and sit on your heels. Fold forward, resting your forehead on the ground and your arms at your sides. Take deep breaths and relax your body.

4. Warrior II (Virabhadrasana II): Stand with your feet hip-width apart. Turn your left foot out and your right foot in. Bend your left knee and extend your arms out to the sides, with your palms facing down. Look over your left hand and take deep breaths.

5. Tree Pose (Vrksasana): Stand with your feet together. Lift your right foot and place it on your left thigh. Bring your hands together in front of your chest and take deep breaths. Switch sides and repeat.

Remember to take deep breaths and listen to your body. If a pose feels uncomfortable or painful, come out of it slowly. With practice, you’ll become more comfortable and confident in each pose.
